Rolling Pin

Guide
← All Topics

A baker’s best friend, rolling pins are instrumental in helping to shape and flatten dough. They aid bread making and are used in cuisines from all over the world. Also ideal when making pizza, pasta and cookies, the use of these kitchen utensils extend far beyond just baked goods. They can also help flatten and tenderize meat and other types of food.

Most commonly made from wood, rolling pins can also be found in a pretty diverse variety of materials. Cheap and lightweight, there’s no excuse not to have a rolling pin at the ready in any kitchen.

They’re shaped like a cylinder and generally come in two distinct styles: rollers and rods. Roller types have a thick barrel in the middle with tiny handles on either end. Rod types are thin, shaped like batons, without handles attached.
